Private Studio Faculty

VMA is currently seeking to add qualified private music instructors for independent contractor positions for the following instrument(s) or group sessions: Woodwinds, Voice, Piano, Organ, Low Brass, Percussion, Strings.

We seek experienced musicians to prepare and provide instruction to students of varying ages, skills, ability levels, and musical interests. You should have the proven ability to teach in a variety of styles and to prepare both young and adult beginning, intermediate and/or advanced students. Each faculty member will provide students with private or semi-private instruction, prepare students for recitals and other performances. Bachelors degree in music related field or equivalent musical teaching and/or performance experience required.

Each position is a contract position with faculty designating the hours for private instruction at our on-site facility. All personnel associated with VMA must submit to a criminal background check. Please submit your resume to programs@valleymusicacademy.org for consideration.

Music Therapist

This private contractor position will be responsible for developing, implementing, modifying and evaluating music therapy services designed to restore, maintain or improve cognitive, physical, emotional and social function of children, teens and young adults and their families.  Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy or equivalent as required for eligibility for certification by the American Music Therapy Association.   Board Certified (MT-BC), or the designation of Registered, Certified or Advance Certified Music Therapist (RMT, CMT, or ACMT) by the American Music Therapy Association.  Competence in music performance, comfortable with singing and instrumental play on a variety of instruments; adapts music principles for therapeutic outcomes within music therapy field; strong interpersonal skills.
